We are excited to introduce our first new signing of the season, central midfielder Rodrigo Albayeros, who will be with us for the year. Rodri, who may be our first player from El Salvador, comes to us after playing in the USA. He feels right at home in Mandurah, sharing that outside of football, he enjoys good food, music, and the beach. He mentioned, "I chose Mandurah City because I heard great things about the club from a friend in the States. He connected me with the Manager, and now I'm here!"
During his time in the USA, Rodri played for Catawba College, Toledo Villa, and Duquesne University. He has quickly adapted and has already participated in a few pre-season matches, eagerly anticipating more competitive play in the weeks ahead. "I want to contribute to a successful Mandurah team, and helping the club achieve promotion to the NPL is my goal this season," he expressed.
When asked about his favorite teams, Rodri replied, "That's an easy one—Club Deportivo FAS from El Salvador and Real Madrid."
Everyone at Mandurah City wishes Rodri the best of luck for the upcoming season! Don’t forget, the first competitive match for the Men's State League team is on Friday, January 31st, against Canning City in the first round of the Men's Night Series competition, kicking off at 8:30 PM.
